Bozeman’s classic single track epic. The Bangtail Divide Trail has a lot of everything to offer with long climbs, flowing single track and fast descents. Bangtail can be ridden in either direction, as an out and back from either end, one big loop with a road connector or a number of shorter loops with varying connections.
The most popular route starts at the Stone Creek trailhead and ends at Brackett Creek. You can either leave a second car in the Brackett Creek parking lot for a shuttle, or ride the road about 7.5 miles back to your car at Stone Creek for the loop.
From Main Street in Bozeman, follow the signs north on Rouse towards Bridger Bowl. Over the train tracks and under the interstate, Rouse turns into Bridger Canyon Drive. The turn to Stone Creek Road is about 11 miles up the canyon on your right. If you’re running a shuttle, you will want to continue up the road another 7.5 miles, past Bridger Bowl, to Bracket Creek road, where you will find the Bracket Creek parking lot and trailhead on your right.
